Eve Hunter, 90, of Frederick, PA and formerly of North Wales and Hatfield, died Friday, April 6, 2012. She was the wife of the late George Hunter, Jr., who died in 1989.
Born May 13, 1921 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Bishko) Wydominic.
During World War II, Eve was a member of the Women’s Workforce having worked as a machinist preparing airplanes for the war effort. She was then employed for many years with Philco and, later, American Olean, retiring in the 1980s. Upon her retirement, Eve enjoyed working part-time at a number of retail establishments, including Burlington Coat Factory in Montgomeryville.
Eve loved the outdoors, and she was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and dog lover.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Lynne Hunter and husband Michael Hall of North Wales, and Nancy Lea Hunter-Young of West Barnstable, MA; her son, Mitch Hunter and wife Donna of Effort, PA; and three grandchildren, Lena Hunter, Nathan Rockstroh, and Benjamin Rockstroh.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Relatives and friends may call between 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A service celebrating her life will be held 3:00 p.m. April 20, 2012 at Frederick Community Living, 2849 Big Road, Frederick, PA, with visitation after 2:30. Interment will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
