Robert W. Eckerle, Jr., 52, of Hatfield, passed away suddenly April 5, 2012 at Abington Health – Lansdale Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary Lou (Reichelt) Eckerle.

Born March 18, 1960 in Meadowbrook, Robert was the oldest son of the late Carol (Martin) and Robert W. Eckerle, Sr.

Mr. Eckerle was an avid sports fan. He loved rooting for his local faithful Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Flyers. He loved golfing, gardening, visiting the shore and boating with family and friends. Robert's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father and was at his happiest watching his three boys grow into young men. Gone too soon, Mr. Eckerle will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by three sons, Robert F., Michael J., and Nathaniel J. Eckerle, all of Hatfield; six siblings, Roseanne Laberge (Bob) of North Carolina, Elaine Eckerle of Jenkintown, William Eckerle (Denise) of Cinnaminson, NJ, Marie O’Hara (Tim) of Huntingdon Valley, Theresa Reynolds (Joe) of Warminster, and Thomas Eckerle (Nancy) of Churchville; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Eckerle, who passed away in 2004.

A receiving of friends will be held 6-8 PM Friday, April 13, 2012 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 and 9-10 AM Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, where his prayer service will be held 10 AM Saturday.
