Isobel Maurer Gibbs, 86, of Carrollton, TX, and formerly of Willow Grove, PA and Hartsville, SC, passed on Thursday, April 12, 2012. She was the wife of the late Ralph C. Gibbs, who died February 8, 1998.

Born November 20, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Roy H. and Josephine F. (Defonso) Maurer.

An active church member wherever she and her late husband resided, Mrs. Gibbs was a longtime teacher of Children’s Bible Studies and Women’s Bible Studies. She enjoyed running a church camp in Quarryville, PA and singing in various church choirs. Her hobbies also included sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Gibbs and wife Michele of Carrollton, TX, and Gail Gibbs Porter and husband Gary of Brooksville, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Kunz of Hatfield, PA, Lorraine Hall and husband Drew of Coopersburg, PA, and Elaine Steinle and husband Richard of Warrington, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Claire Zimmerman.

The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Wayside Chapel of Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1156 Horsham Road, Ambler, PA 19002 (please enter off Horsham Road).
