LeRoy T. Hartman, 93, a resident of Dock Woods Community, Lansdale, went to be with his Lord on April 13, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne (Overholtzer) Hartman. They would have celebrated their 66th year of marriage on May 18th of this year.
LeRoy was born on December 14, 1918, in Hatfield, to the late Vernon and Daisy (Gerhart) Hartman. He enjoyed over 50 years as a supervisor of the trimming, cutting, and sewing department of the former Hanson Textile Company in Hatfield. A World War II Veteran, he served in Italy and France with the 473rd Engineer Maintenance Company from 1942-1945.
Along with his wife, he was a long-time and faithful member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Hatfield. He was a member of the Hatfield Chamber of Commerce, the Hatfield Historical Society and the American Society of Dowsers. He had a wide range of interests that included gardening, photography, and antiquing. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up on current events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers; Kenneth Hartman and his wife Mary of Hatfield and Floyd Hartman of Peter Becker Community; his sister, Shirley Stover and her husband Glenn of Souderton as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Young, his brother Willard Hartman, and his infant brother Lester Hartman. A private graveside service will be held at Christ Covenant Church Cemetery.
