Nora M. Hughes, 95, of Lansdale, PA and formerly of Boardman, OH, entered into God’s eternal care Friday, April 20, 2012 at Abington Health – Lansdale Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harold M. Hughes, her beloved husband of 31 years, who died in 1972.
Born May 4, 1916 in Youngstown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Howard and May (Lees) Burton.
Mrs. Hughes was a charter member of Boardman Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday School program and where her late husband was a trustee. Her hobbies included bowling, big band music, and dancing. Mrs. Hughes was also a member of two senior citizens’ groups in the Boardman area.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine E. Suhar and husband Richard of Lansdale; her son, Philip V. Hughes of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Brittany Hughes of Youngstown, David B. Suhar and wife Karen of Winfield, AL, and Kimberly L. Nissen and husband Arthur of Bloomsburg, PA; three great-grandchildren, Kalina J. Nissen, Keith A. Nissen, and Cassandra G. Suhar; and a great-great-granddaughter, Priscilla Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Burton.
The Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Boardman Baptist Church, 1207 Shields Road, Youngstown, OH 44511. Interment will be private in Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
