Betty Trotta Sandel (née Falkenstein), 82, of Normandy Farms Estates, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 25, 2012 after a brief, but heroic, struggle with vascular dementia. She was the beloved wife first to the late Joseph A. Trotta, and following his death, Betty was fortunate to marry a wonderful man, her late second husband, David E. Sandel.
Born February 28, 1930 in New York, she moved to Levittown in 1958 with her husband, Joseph, and family. Betty was a long time employee of Marvin Rappaport, DDS where she worked as a dental hygienist. A 40 year resident of Levittown, she was active in church affairs as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, and she later joined First Presbyterian Church of Morrisville. After re-locating to Blue Bell, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ambler. She also had a passion for gardening, especially roses.
Betty will be sadly missed by her loving children, Betty Jo Earnest (Bill) and Robert Trotta (Jean); her grandchildren, Rik Earnest (Faithe), Elisa Robertson (Aaron), Jeanie Burns, Joanie Trotta (Mike McAndrew), Jaycie Trotta, and Jacklyn Mayer (Frank); and her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Ava, Nathaniel, Alexander, Kathryn, and Baby Mac. She also shared her life with the extended Sandel family.
Services and Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
