Samuel J. Krider, 76, a long-time North Wales resident, went to be with the Lord August 5, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura G. (Matos) Krider, who passed away in 2009.
Born July 12, 1936, he was a son of the late Robert F. and Cecelia M. (Baker) Krider.
Samuel attended North Wales High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was later employed for many years with Mopac, where he worked in refrigeration maintenance.
Being very active in local organizations, he held memberships with the Sellersville Legion Nase Kraft Post 255, the Sellersville Moose Lodge 1539 and was a former member of the Eagles in Lansdale, the Little Vets and the Cannoneers. He also enjoyed HO Scale model trains, big band music, and most importantly, valued time with family and friends who will miss him very much.
Surviving are his daughters, Kathleen A. Rider and her husband, Donald, of Souderton and Betty Jean Kite and her husband, Daniel, of Lewis Center, OH; three grandchildren, Deana Brower and her husband, William, Melanie Kiefer and her husband, Robert, and Joshua Kite; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Arieanna, and Billy and his wife, Ashley; one sister, Roberta Krider Tallon and her husband Jack; and two brothers, Edwin and Franklin Krider.
Relatives and friends are invited to call after 9 AM, Monday, August 13, 2012 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by the Funeral Service at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
