Nicolino Carafa, 73, of Lansdale, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He was the husband of Rosaria (Romano) Carafa, his wife of 50 years.
Born May 2, 1941 in Montecilfone, Italy, he was a son of the late Francesco and Assunta (Scarpone) Carafa.
Mr. Carafa immigrated to the United States in 1956 before moving to Lansdale in 1985. He was employed as a machinist with B & G Manufacturing, Hatfield, for many years, retiring in 2007.
Nick was a dedicated parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He also was a member of the Societa' San Giorgio, Montecilfone, named after the Patron Saint of his hometown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Maria Assunta Cucuzza and her husband, Antonio, of Sellersville, and Antonietta Swafford of Lansdale; four grandchildren, Brian, Nicholas, Noel, and Andrew; his sister, Lucia Carafa of Philadelphia; and brother, Antonio Carafa and his wife, Grace, of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Blasio Carafa; sister, Antonietta Carafa; and grandmother, Filomena Colella.
Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second viewing will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery.
