Carl J. "Sox" Pietrangelo, 86, of Telford and formerly Lansdale, passed away peacefuly on Thursday, January 3, 2019 surrounded by his family.
He was the devoted husband of Rita (nee Wall) Pietrangelo, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Lansdale in 1932, he was a son of the late Tobia & Fanny (Antonacio) Pietrangelo.
Mr. Pietrangelo was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. Following his service, he was the owner and operator of the former Lansdale Heat Clinic.
Outside of work he was an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. Carl also cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his unconditional care, love, and support over the years.
Surviving Carl, in addition to his wife Rita, are their children; Robert Heimerdinger (Barbara); Judy Detweiler (John); Beth Hughes (Rich); 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Mary Bartle; Marguerite DiLello; and Theresa Puia (George). He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan; 6 brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, January 7 after 9:00 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, where his Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Lansdale. Arrangements are entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carl may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
