Lansdale

George R. Hibsman III, 73, of Lansdale, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at St. Mary's Center For Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Lansdale.  He was the husband of Wendy (Kipp) Hibsman for the last 49 and a half years.

Born October 9, 1946, George was the son of the late George R. and Phyllis Hibsman II. His life was long and filled with family, community, and a long tenure with Nationwide Insurance.  As he started his family in the early 1970s, he was Scout Master and leader for many of the early years.  He coached T-Ball/Baseball/Connie Mack for 25 consecutive years with 12 years of soccer coaching to fill time in the fall.  He was a Vietnam Vet and post war Army reservist when he spent time at Indian Town Gap as an instructor.  His professional career with Nationwide started in the early 1970s as a solicitor for his Uncle Jack's Nationwide Agency. He left agency and entered management from the Harrisburg regional office. He continued with Nationwide management until 2000 when he and his son opened their own agency in Lansdale.

The impact George had on the lives and careers of family, friends and co-workers will always be remembered. His love of coaching and service to community sports has a lasting affect for those lives he touched. And as a proud serviceman, how fitting that George gave his last breath on Memorial Day.

In addition to his wife, Wendy, George is survived by two brothers, Timothy and Thomas; four sons: Christian and wife Dana, Andrew and wife Tracy, James and wife Karen, and George IV (Todd) and wife Sherri; one daughter, Tianna Brewington and husband Maurice; nineteen grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to
