Joseph J. Capaldi, Jr.

Joseph J Capaldi Jr., 74, of Perkasie, formerly of Lansdale, passed away Tuesday, June 16th, 2020, in his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was a devoted husband to Patricia Capaldi, nee Tindall, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1946, Joe was the.middle child of the late E. Lorraine (nee Byers) Capaldi and Joseph J. Capaldi Sr.

He grew up in West Conshohocken and graduated from Conshohocken High School in 1964. He proudly enlisted in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and was trained as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal while stationed in Vietnam.

After a 30 year career with SEPTA, he retired in 2012. In his free time he loved motorcycles and jazz music, tended his garden, and collected stamps and coins. He also loved to travel and was an avid lover of Philadelphia sports teams, despite the heartbreak they sometimes caused him. Most of all, Joe loved his children and 6 grandchildren and was a surrogate father to many friends and neighbors.

In addition to his wife Pat, Joe is survived by his two sons Stephen and Michael and his daughter Janelle, their spouses Beth, Karen, and Jeff; his grandchildren Cory, Emma, Alayna, Aidan, Brennan, and Dominick; and his two siblings, Michael Capaldi and Madalene Bruno.

Funeral services for Joe will be held Monday, June 29 at 11:30 a.m. and will be limited in attendance to his immediate family.
