Alan H. Johnston, 78, of North Wales, died Thursday, September 28, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Judy (Burkholder) Johnston.

Born April 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Leona (Fanz) Johnston.

Mr. Johnston was employed as a teacher with North Penn School District for 32 years, retiring in 1999.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed working as a kitchen designer with a number of local companies.

Alan was a member of St. John's UCC, Lansdale.  He was active with the National Ski Patrol for 50 years and was an avid field hockey and lacrosse referee.  He also enjoyed coaching field hockey and track and field.  Along with his wife, he owned and operated his craft business, Two Stitches, and loved traveling the east coast to countless craft shows.  Alan was also a proud Eagle Scout.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Heather Foley (Patrick) of Chestnut Hill, Kelly Bayer (Justin) of Worcester, Charles J. King III (Aimee) of Oreland, and Elizabeth Wigand (Mark) of Perkiomenville; seven grandchildren, Caroline, Taylor, George, Thomas, Rose, Laura, and Mark William; and his brother, Robert Johnston (Bonnie) of Zieglerville.

Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at St. John's UCC, 500 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Alan's memory to St. John's UCC, address above.
