Anne E. Folkes

Anne E. Folkes, 92, of Lansdale, died Thursday, October 16, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of the late Paul E. "Jim" Folkes, who died March 14, 2009.

Born September 13, 1933 in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Cannon) Murphy.

Mrs. Folkes was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lansdale.  She was employed with Merck for over 30 years, retiring in the early 1990s.

Anne graduated from Lansdale High School and was active with their alumni group.  She also loved socializing with her many "card club" friends. The family matriarch, Anne will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.

Survivors include her children, James P. Folkes (Elaine) of Grand Rapids, MI, Michael P. Folkes (Phyllis Hsu) of Coopersburg, PA, Lawrence P. Folkes (Nancy) of Skippack, PA, Daniel B. Folkes (Rosemary) of Lansdale, and Amy L. Gadaleta of Lansdale; her son-in-law, Christopher R. Zentgraf of Lansdale; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Agnes Phayre (Donald) of Lansdale, and Mary Paul of Quakertown.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathleen A. Zentgraf.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale.  A second visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28 at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  If you cannot attend, the service will be livestreamed at: Service Livestream Burial will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
