Annette J. Beyer

July 18, 1965 — April 1, 2026

Blooming Glen

Annette J. (Mattocks) Beyer, 60, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after complications from surgery, following a long and valiant journey with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Greg Beyer, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.

Annette was born in Troy, PA, on July 18, 1965, to Dale and Janet (Cole) Mattocks. She attended Troy High School, where she was involved in many musical endeavors, such as band, choir and Cobblestones. Annette earned a degree in music from Houghton College in NY. It was at Houghton that she met her husband, Greg.

After starting their family, Annette and Greg joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1992. They served in Cameroon, Africa, for many years before working from Blooming Glen, PA for the last 11 years. Annette served in a variety of roles with Wycliffe for more than 33 years.

Annette loved music, coming from a musical family, and enjoyed using her musical skills in creative ways to praise the Lord. Annette led worship teams, was a choir director both in church and school settings and organized and conducted instrumental groups. She loved to teach children and over the years taught music and piano lessons to many children, both in Cameroon and in Pennsylvania. She also led and taught in several kids' Bible clubs while in Cameroon.

Annette strove to serve the Lord in all she did in life. During her eight-year cancer journey, she exhibited grace and perseverance, despite the difficulties she faced. She sought to focus on others, asking how she might pray for them. She loved others well by caring for their practical needs and using words of encouragement.

She is survived by her husband, Greg Beyer, her two daughters, Allison Benton and husband Joshua, and Megan Beyer, and granddaughter Ayla Benton. She is also survived by her mother, Janet (Cole) Mattocks, her brother, Mark Mattocks and his wife Wendy, her sister-in-law, Tanya Mattocks, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Karen Beyer, and her mother-in-law, Gerry Beyer, along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Mattocks, her brother, Lyle Mattocks and father-in-law, Luke Beyer.
