Aroon Dinoobhai Mankad, 76, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, June 3 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446. Aroon was born on April 13, 1945 in Rajkot, India to the late Dinoobhai and Nautumbala ben Mankad. He graduated from the LMCP School of Pharmacy with a Bachelors in Pharmacy. On May 7, 1970 he married Geeta Buch and immigrated to the United States in 1974. Throughout his lifetime, Aroon held various positions within pharmaceutical industry initially starting as a scientist in research and development at USV laboratories and ultimately retiring at Merck and Co working in Global Regulatory Affairs. While he genuinely enjoyed working to make a difference – he worked to live and retired in 2009.

He spent his retired years with his wife and family and enjoyed traveling. He most recently completed the Chardham Yatra and visited Pashupathinath Temple in Nepal (over 11,000 feet in elevation) to help his wife (Geeta) fulfill her religious aspirations and lifelong dream of visiting all of the 12 holiest Hindu sites devoted to Lord Shiva. The final trip that he and his wife took was to the Canadian Rockies – a trip enjoyed with lifelong friends.

Aroon also devoted his time to helping others – whether it was volunteering with Doctors Without Borders or helping families in need or supporting the Dattatreya Mandir in Nareshwar, a trip that he and Geeta would make during each visit to India. It is by our parents' example that we learned what resilience, perseverance, and kindness truly look like.

He lived for his family and was passionate in supporting and helping those in need. He was always ready to share a story and a laugh and lend a helping hand. He spent his retired years gardening, reading, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Aroon will always be a loving father to Hiral Mankad (Ardell Fuhrmann) and Rahul Mankad (Ripal). In addition, he absolutely lived for his grandkids and will always be a beloved grandfather (Nana and Dada) to Manisha, Niam and Kian.
