Arthur “Gene” Rose, 88, of Hatfield, fell asleep in death Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Harris) Rose.
Born June 25, 1938, in Bedford, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur S. and Myrtle (Elliott) Rose.
Gene worked for many years as a machinist in the manufacturing business. He was a veteran for the US military. He later became a devout Jehovah’s Witness. Gene enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, gardening, fishing, riding four wheelers, camping, and spending time with friends for card game nights.
Gene is survived by his sister, Darlene Kegg; his children, Arthur E. Rose Jr., Gina Rose; his step-children, Paula Allen (Kirby), Marsha Harman (George), Pamela Smith, Cynthia Smith; his nephew, Brian Kegg; his grandchildren, Shannon, Justin, Sean, Kaitlyn, Jason, Dylan, Abriel, Jamie, James, Aislinn, Kayla, Alayna, and Sophia; his five great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Beatrice Rose and Genevieve DeLauter; brother-in-law, Gary Kegg; niece, Connie; and grandchild, Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions by made in Gene’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the JW Worldwide Work.
Private arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, PA.
