Beatrice M. Orr

Beatrice M. Orr, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by family on November 2, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on December 23, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bea grew up in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, and graduated from St. John the Baptist School in Manyunk. Proud of her Irish heritage, she carried with her a strong sense of faith, resilience, and a quick wit that brightened every room she entered.

Bea was the beloved wife of James E. Orr. For 35 years, they built a life rich with love, friendship, and countless happy memories with family and friends.

Her greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother to Bridget Faulkner (Daniel Birk), Lisa Mertz (Shannon), and Nadine Pence (Joseph); a cherished grandmother to Trey, Alec, Andrew, Liam, Ksenia, and Kristina; and a proud great-grandmother to Rowdy, Caleb, and Bennett.

Bea enjoyed a successful career with Merck Pharmaceuticals, where she was a dedicated and respected employee until her retirement in 2000. In retirement, she and Jim shared a love of travel, exploring historical sites, visiting their children and grandchildren, and spending time boating and fishing together. They especially enjoyed discovering the best local breakfast spots wherever their journeys took them.

Known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering strength, Bea touched the lives of all who knew her. Her warmth, humor, and generosity made everyone feel welcome, and her love for her family and friends was boundless.

The family will receive friends starting 9:30 am Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, with the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ambler.

Bea was a lifelong lover of all animals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to P.A.L.S. (Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society) in Bea's memory.
