Caroline "Carol" M. Christ, 68, of Blue Bell, PA, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Meadowood Retirement Community.
She was the loving wife of Paul F. Christ.
Born September 30, 1955 in Denver, Colorado, she was a daughter to the late Francis and Margaret (Perkins) Manlove.
From the age of four, Carol lived with her parents and siblings in the Philadelphia area. They enjoyed summer vacations in Windsor, Vermont and the Delaware shore and winter skiing trips to Vermont and then Colorado. Carol took up the piano early and later also the cello, but her main artistic expression came through the visual arts. A family friend got her started with quilting when she was a teenager, an outgrowth of having cloth scraps left over from clothing she had sewn. She explored many other visual arts media in high school art classes.
Carol was a fine arts major in one of the last graduating classes at Kirkland College which was later absorbed by Hamilton College. She later went on to receive an MBA from Temple University and held jobs with Melitta and American University before transitioning into the roles of part-time consultant and very active mother of four.
Throughout her life, Carol maintained an active agenda despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She was heavily involved in her children's schools (including serving on several committees), and their activities. She served for 5 years on her township's park and open space board, where she was a strong advocate for accessibility for all and, in particular, those with special needs. As noted, she was a highly creative and versatile artist, which included, among other things, painting, weaving, quilting and working with ceramics. Carol also took pleasure in gardening and baking, doing family genealogy and was a die-hard Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Carol will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother that was compassionate, caring towards all people and always maintained an optimistic outlook on life.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her two sons, Mark and Thomas Christ; her two daughters, Kelly and Katherine Christ; her brothers, Allan Kluber (Ruth Ann Brown) and Charles Manlove; and her sister, Betsy Manlove (Nick Bolgiano).
