Catharine "Kitty" M. O'Donnell

Catharine “Kitty” M. O’Donnell, 92, of Towamencin Township, PA passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital in East Norriton, PA. Kitty was married to husband, James J. “Jim” O’Donnell, for 60 years before his passing in 2017.

Born July 29, 1933, in Mount Holly, NJ, Kitty was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Marie C. (Gegan) Carlin and was the fourth of five sisters. Kitty enjoyed childhood with her close-knit Catholic family in Moorestown, NJ. Her love for the Jersey Shore was a constant throughout her life, spending countless summers there during childhood and working as a waitress “down the shore” for several summers as a teenager.

Kitty attended Dunbarton College of Holy Cross in Washington, DC where she made countless memories with friends. After graduation, she worked at Campbell’s Soup in Camden, where her shining personality drew her many coworkers to her. Kitty and her friends spirited away for a 3-month European tour, igniting her love of travel.

After returning, she began work at RCA in Moorestown, NJ where she caught the eye of a young Jim O’Donnell. Their relationship sparked during a first date on her birthday in 1956, when they saw My Fair Lady on Broadway. Kitty and Jim became engaged that Christmas and married on April 27th the following year. They raised four busy boys in Delran, NJ. When she wasn’t chasing after her boys, she stayed busy spending time with family, traveling, playing bridge and pinochle, reading, and staying stylish.

Kitty was blessed with 11 grandchildren and loved spending time with her immediate and extended family. Jim and Kitty spent their golden years enjoying Elderhostel trips and wintering in Florida, where she took up golf and enjoyed a good margarita.

Kitty approached every situation with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Her patience, compassion, genuine love for others and joy were a blessing for all who met her.

Kitty’s survivors include three children, Christopher J. O’Donnell (Danielle), of Lansdale, PA, Patrick E. O’Donnell (Janet), also of Lansdale, James M. O’Donnell (Amanda), of Chadds Ford, PA; grandchildren, Shawn, Daniel, Katherine, Jack, Elleanor, Ryan,

Meghan, Matthew, Anna, Luke, and Kayla; and sisters, Marietta Sullivan and Jo Anne Hoops.

Kitty was predeceased by a son, Thomas O’Donnell, and sisters, Agnes Fletcher and Patricia Davis.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:45 am, Friday, June 19, 2026, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by a Funeral Mass.
