Cheryl L. "Cherry" Ransom, 81, of Hatfield, died Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Wayne E. Ransom, who died October 25, 2018.
Born February 10, 1945 in Bethel Park, PA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Betty (Patterson) Lytle.
Mrs. Ransom graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania where she was an active member and alumnae of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. She was employed as a teacher for many years, including her time at North Penn School District and a number of local nursery schools.
Cherry was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, and cruising with family.
Survivors include her children, Nicole Levy (Stephen) of Odenton, MD, and Chad M. Ransom of Hatfield; her son-in-law, Neal J. Markowitz of Bethesda, MD; five granddaughters, Alexis, Abigail, Hannah, Celia, and Isabella; and two sisters, Susan Mueh of Florida, and Deborah Decker of Washington State.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Meghan Ransom McEwen-Markowitz.
Relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private in the church columbarium. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Cherry's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, address above.
