David L. Derstein

David “Dave” L. Derstein, 72, of Lansdale, died Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Susan W. (Gower) Derstein. They married on June 6, 1973.

Born August 23, 1953 in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Clarence and Valeria (Esquirell) Derstein.

Dave was employed as a machine operator in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, as well as going to Grandview Speedway. Dave also enjoyed hunting with his brothers-in-law and was an avid Phillies fan.

For those who are attending his viewing and service, Dave’s family has requested that sports attire or casual clothing be worn.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his son, Chris of Lansdale and his daughter, Sarah Derstein (Jamie) of Lansdale; his sister, Carol Caum of Lansdale and brother, Jeff Derstein of Hatfield.

Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Derstine Ave. Lansdale. There will also be a second viewing on Thursday, July 24th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Inc., Lansdale.
