David Andrew Gansner, 88, of Eagleville, PA, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital.
He was the loving husband of Nancy (Haag) Gansner.
Born December 1, 1936, he was a son of the late Andrew and Marga (Kautz) Gansner.
David was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. He had an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and Masters' degrees from Ohio State University and Wharton School of Business. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 37 years, retiring in 1994.
Throughout his life, David had a passion for sports and enthusiastically cheered on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles. He was a youth coach and was always his kids and grandkids' biggest fan. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, tending to his Christmas trees, and volunteering at Ridley Creek State Park.
What brought David the most joy in life was his family. He will be remembered as a generous, compassionate husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who appreciated an easy-going lifestyle.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his two daughters, Robyn Gansner, and husband Barry, and Tara Gansner; his son, Michael Gansner, and wife Debra; two step-sons, Frank Palumbo, and Mychal Harrison, and husband Billy; his grandchildren, Kelly, Tyler, Michael, Connor, Alexander, and Marissa; and his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Sydney, Wren, Wyatt, and Parker.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mitzi, and his brother, Bruce.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 10:00 AM at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 615 Cowpath Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446. A memorial service will begin at 11:00, and all are welcome to join the family in a time of food and fellowship following the service.
Guests are encouraged to wear the baseball cap of their favorite team to the service.
