Deborah A. Danowski

Deborah A. Danowski, 72, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on September 26, 2026. Deborah was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

Deborah was born on April 11, 1954 in Lansdale, PA to the late William and Margaret (Daly) Leister. She is survived by her husband, John Danowski; two sons, Zac Danowski (Sarah) and Nick Danowski (Malina); three grandchildren, Cora Danowski, Charlotte Danowski, and Emma Danowski.; and three siblings, Dave Leister (Dee), William “Bud” Leister (Grace), and Susan Alderfer (Kent). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret (Peg) Kessler.

Deb was active in North Penn High School theater for over 40 years, as an actor while attending high school, then adult theater followed by her role as Artistic Director. She was passionate about baking and always finding new recipes or ways to experiment with her cooking. She absolutely loved having us try her recipes and explain what new trick she tried to make it even more special. Passing her love of baking and cooking onto her granddaughter Cora were some of her most cherished moments.

Deb was an avid plant lover of both indoor and outdoor gardening. If you’ve ever been to the house you will see the evidence of her fern obsession. Reading was another of her favorite escapes. Her love of books spilled over into her second career as a library assistant at York Avenue Elementary. Putting books into the hands of children provided her with so much joy. Before becoming a mother, Deb began her nurturing as a dog mom. Airedale’s are her absolute favorite and she has loved them all fiercely.

But most of all Deb's most favorite role was that of Mother and Grandmother. Nothing was more important than family. She was incredibly thoughtful and always put her family above anything else. She loved us all with a ferocity that will never be forgotten. Deb and John were married for 48 wonderful years and shared an amazing life together filled with love, laughter and supporting each other through all of life's ups and downs.

The last gift Deb was able to give was that of saving someone else's life through organ donation.

Deb’s quick wit, dry sense of humor and enormous heart will live on in all of our memories. Please help us honor her by wearing some extra flair, leopard print or sparkle while we celebrate her life. Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday November, 12 2026 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, Pa 19446, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a foundation will be set up for York Avenue Elementary School Library in the North Penn School District.
