Dolores Helen Knauer

September 5, 1943 – October 7, 2026

Dolores Helen Knauer, 83, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1943, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, a small coal-mining town in the northeastern part of the state. She was the daughter of the late Stanley L. and Evelyn (Borowski) Olszewski.

As a child, Dolores moved with her family to Jackson Street in Norristown, Pennsylvania, where she attended the Norristown School District. It was there that she met her future husband, Gordon Knauer, who lived nearby on Stanbridge Street. The two fell in love and were married on October 21, 1961, beginning a marriage that spanned nearly 65 years.

Dolores devoted her early years to raising her family as a loving stay-at-home mother. Later in life, she worked as a receptionist, first in the 1980s at Harleysville Eye Associates in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, and then in the 1990s for Dr. Bipin Amin in Skippack, Pennsylvania.

Dolores enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and spending time with those she loved. She and Gordon especially enjoyed their second home in Fort Myers, Florida. She had a creative spirit and loved painting ceramics. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats and dogs.

Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gordon Knauer of North Wales; her three daughters, Melissa Shelly (Bruce), Michele Bergey (Thomas), and Kimberly Pimpinello (Brian); and her seven grandchildren, Dylan Shelly, Connor Shelly, Mackenzie Wells, Brittany Bergey, Courtney Bergey, Chandler Bergey, and Marlaina Frederick. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Olszewski of Norristown, and nephews Edward Olszewski (Jennifer) and Robert Olszewski (Dana).

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Stanley Olszewski, and her two brothers, Leon Olszewski and William Olszewski.

Dolores leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of her family, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
