Doris A. (Polansky) Dudash, passed away on August 27, 2025 at Mosser Nursing Home in Trexlertown. She was 83 years old.
Doris was born on May 1, 1942 in New York, NY. She was the daughter of Adam and Anna (Sudia) Polansky. She grew up in New York City and graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, NY in 1959.
After high school, Doris took classes at Hunter College and worked for TIAA in New York as a secretary. At a Russian Orthodox Club bowling tournament, she met John Dudash, Jr. from Frackville. They married in 1965, living in Mt. Penn for 16 years before moving to Zionsville in 1983. She worked for H & R Block as a tax preparer in Boyertown and as an administrative assistant for Sunrise Biologicals in Allentown.
Doris was a devoted Orthodox Christian and she was active in several church communities, including St. Herman's Orthodox Church in Shillington and St. Philip's Orthodox Church in Souderton. She was a member of the churches' women's organizations and contributed her culinary talents to many church functions. She enjoyed visiting Orthodox monasteries and attending spiritual retreats.
Doris's greatest joy was spending time with her five grandchildren, Kyra Busser (Zach) of Brooklyn, NY, Aleksei Lee of Philadelphia, Anna Lee of Rahway, NJ, Vladimir Lee of Rahway, NJ, and Dmitri Lee of Rahway, NJ. Known as Baba, she hosted many family gatherings and made sure everyone was happy and well fed. She also enjoyed doing handicrafts and hobbies such as sewing and gardening.
Doris is survived by her husband, John. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on October 9 of this year. She is also survived by her daughter Larissa Lee of Rahway, NJ; her five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Busser, in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her sister, Olga Romanofsky and her son-in-law David Lee. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30 at St. Philip Orthodox Church, Souderton with visitation from 10 am to 11 am in the church.
Burial will be in the adjacent church cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Protection, 59 East Second Street, New York, NY 10003 which was Doris's spiritual home growing up in New York.
