Dorothy L. Lightcap

Dorothy L. "Dot" Lightcap, 85, of Harleysville, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of the late Harold D. "Sam" Lightcap, Jr., who died February 5, 2016.

Born August 12, 1939 in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Titus and Martha (Derstine) Landis.

Dot was a longtime member of Lansdale United Methodist Church and was employed with the former American Olean Tile Company for many years.  She will be remembered as an avid gardener and animal lover.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Rhoda Landis of Souderton, and Sherry Gerhart (Don) of Lansdale; two nieces, Anita Kapusta (Jerry), and Lori Danzenbaker (Dan); three nephews, Mark Landis, Don Gerhart (Shannon), and Dave Gerhart (Denise); niece-in-law, Marianne Landis; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Linford Landis and a nephew, Robert Landis.

Relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Peter Becker Community, 800 Maple Ave., Harleysville, followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Dot's memory to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
