Dorothy (Page) Williams, 82, died on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Traditions of Lansdale. Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Irma (Allmond) Page. Surviving is her daughter Michelle Marshall and grandson Darren Marshall.
Dorothy was raised on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation and took great pride in her native heritage. After graduating high school, she moved to Philadelphia to seek employment while living with her uncle and cousins. Several years later, she moved to Lansdale, where she lived for the rest of her life. Friends referred to her as Dottie and that became her preference.
Dottie enjoyed returning to the reservation to visit family and friends on holidays and summer vacations. She loved her mom's cooking and baking. They would spend long evenings on the porch swing, talking late into the night. Sundays were always special because the whole family got dressed up for church and had the week's most plentiful meal after the service, often with extended family members.
Dottie was a long-time active member of First Baptist Church in Lansdale where she was a member of the hospitality team, FBC American Baptist Women's Ministries Circle, and helped with the Children's Ministry. She also participated in an adult coloring group. She enjoyed bus trips with the Senior Saints that included attending shows at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster. The friends she made at FBCL were very dear to her heart.
Dottie was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her bible, romance novels, and the newspaper. She enjoyed playing board games and putting puzzles together with her grandson. Her grandson recalls how much she also enjoyed crossword puzzles and sudoku. Some of her spare time was also spent sewing and watching crime dramas. Dottie's grandson has fond memories of her watching rabbits in the backyard and spending time outside in her flower garden. Giraffes were her favorite animal and dessert was always her favorite part of any meal.
She was a music lover and enjoyed attending concerts with her daughter and grandson. While she loved many rock n roll musicians, her favorite artist was Elvis Presley, and enjoyed a trip to Memphis with her daughter and grandson to see Graceland.
