Douglas "Doug" Godshall Obituary
Douglas "Doug" Godshall, 62, of Lansdale, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 17, 1963, in Lansdale, Doug was the cherished son of the late Clarence I. and Helen (Chapell) Godshall. He graduated from North Penn High School in the class of 1981, forging lifelong friendships and memories that would shape his generous spirit.
Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Heidi (Clarke) Godshall, and his loving daughter, Rande Tressler (Josh Morabito) of Lebanon, PA. He was a caring stepfather to Andrea Haines (Dan Evans) of Albuquerque, NM, and Melissa Haines-Lee, wife of Ezra Lee, and proud grandfather to Daemon Lee of Aston, PA. Doug's family circle also includes his sisters, Karin Wheelin of Quakertown, PA, and Linda Trout of Lansdale, PA; his brother, Kevin Godshall of Lansdale, PA; and his supportive in-laws, Roger and Susan Clarke of Lansdale, PA. His loyal canine companion, Buddy, was always by his side.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce Godshall.
A proud member of the Lansdale American Legion Post #206 and the Sons of the American Legion, Doug embodied the values of service and camaraderie. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Doug's adventurous spirit led him and Heidi to raise Monarch butterflies in Southwest Florida, a testament to his love for nature and nurturing life.
Doug treasured time spent in the mountains of Pennsylvania, especially in Sullivan and Tioga counties, where he found peace and inspiration. Above all, he cherished moments with his family and close friends, including Mark Fisher and Karl Knaak, whose friendship enriched his life.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private and at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Doug's memory to The Sons of the American Legion Post 206 (SAL 206) or the American Legion Auxiliary Post 206 (ALA 206), both at PO Box 406, Lansdale, PA 19446.
Doug's legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
