Douglas H. Simons, 86, passed away at the Lutheran Community at Telford on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was the loving husband of 60 years to Lorna (Glossner) Simons.
Born in Abington, PA, he was a son of the late Herbert Simons Jr., and Ruth (Graham) Simons.
Douglas proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps.He had a great love for singing and he became a charter member of the Abington Barbershop Chorus. He was very involved with the Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, Lansdale, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, elder, and volunteer. His passion for singing continued as he also sang in the church choir at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian, along with many other churches in his lifetime. Through the years, he and Lorna enjoyed many family vacations and cruises all over the world. Douglas was also an avid swimmer. Above all, he cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Lorna, he is survived by his daughter, Lynne Schneer (Dale); grandchildren Brandon Schneer, April Damon (Seth), and Lydia Schneer; and siblings John Simons (Jeanne), and Betty Jean Stringer (Dan). In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Beverly Stilinovich (John), Dorothy Percetti (John), and Deborah Petch.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, Lansdale. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM.

Burial services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church at 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, or the Carmel Presbyterian Church at 100 Edge Hill Rd, Glenside, PA 19038 would be greatly appreciated.
