Edward A. Macnair

Edward A. MacNair, 81, of Lansdale, PA, peacefully passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at Brittany Pointe Estates.

He was the loving husband of Betsy MacNair for fifty-nine years.

Born June 29, 1943, he was the son of the late George and Janice (Higbee) MacNair.

Ed was born and raised in Bellerose, New York.  After graduating from Hofstra University with a degree in mathematics, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Army and served thirteen months in Korea.  Upon his honorable discharge, Ed obtained a Master's Degree in Operations Research from New York University.  Ed gained employment at IBM, where he worked for forty years.  Upon retirement, Ed and Betsy moved to Lansdale to be closer to their children and grandchildren.  Ed enjoyed traveling to Acadia and Grand Teton National Parks, and harbored a deep appreciation for nature.

Throughout his life, Ed enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball for his children and served as the treasurer of his chapter of the National Little League.  He adored his grandchildren and was an enthusiastic and dedicated spectator at their sporting events and dance recitals. Ed was also an avid runner, participating in both the New York City and Nassau County Marathons.

Ed will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, avid Phillies fan, and animal lover.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John MacNair, and wife Jennifer, and Scott MacNair, and wife Lyndsey; his grandchildren, Amy, Audrey, Adam, Grace, and Corinne; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Ortell.

Inurnment will take place Saturday, August 9, 2025, 10:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 1020 S Valley Forge Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Humane Society.

Arrangements are entrusted to Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
