Eleanor Casciato

Eleanor Casciato, 96, of Souderton, died Friday, December 6, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano J. "Gus" Casciato, who died February 4, 2017.

Born May 23, 1928 in South Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Francese) Perri.

Mrs. Casciato had a career in the beauty industry.  She co-owned and operated several beauty salons, including Lady Beautique in Chestnut Hill, for many years.  Eleanor was known as a great cook with her signature dishes being meatballs and cheesecake.  She was an avid card player who enjoyed socializing.

She was a longtime parishioner of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Joseph J. Casciato (Alix) of Wayne, PA, Jayne E. Casciato of Souderton, and Perry J. Casciato (Sue) of Harleysville; four grandchildren, Colin, Evan, Nora, and Ali; three great-grandchildren, Serena, Lillian, and Keegan; and was the matriarch of her large extended family.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. January 10, 2025 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
