Eleanor Wilson Stoltz, 90, of Lansdale, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Born in Pittsburgh on August 28, 1923, to the late John Paul and Eleanor Shore Wilson, she graduated from Avonworth High School in 1941. Mrs. Stoltz earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1945. She taught art and supervised art programs for 10 Pittsburgh-area schools. She also founded two children's art schools.
Her 1940s student art portfolio was exhibited at Carnegie Mellon University in 2010. The Eleanor Wilson Stoltz Collection is at the Carnegie Mellon University Archives. In retirement she co-taught art classes at her retirement home.
She married the late James H. Stoltz on September 20, 1947. They were married 58 years.
She is survived by her daughters Susan B. Stoltz of New York City, Patricia E. (Douglas) Clawson of Philadelphia, Nancy S. (Jon) Fugler of Colorado Springs, and Laurie Stoltz Eubanks of Chicago; grandchildren Amy Brant, Kathleen Clawson, Christine Clawson, Jayna Fugler, Travis (Jenny) Fugler, Thomas (Olivia) Fugler, and Elena Eubanks; and great-grandchildren, Alexander and Tobin Brant, Aria and Roman Fugler, and Bella, Summer and Rhett Fugler.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Dock Woods Community Chapel, Woods Drive, Lansdale. There will be a time to greet the family starting at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Chapel. The committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 22 in the chapel at Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Avenue, Allison Park.
