Francisco J. Romeu

Francisco J. "Frank" Romeu, 88, of North Wales, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 2, 2026.

He was born on March 25, 1938 in Barcelona, Spain to the late Francisco and Antonia Romeu.

Frank, a Fulbright Scholar, came to the U.S. in 1962, earning Master's degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Over a distinguished 50-year career, he made significant contributions to his field. He was an avid fan of FC Barcelona, a lover of music and singing serenatas, and a passionate enthusiast of serrano peppers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alicia (Hernandez) Romeu; three children, Diana Ekstrand (Brad) of Los Altos, California, Laura Romeu of Denville, New Jersey, and Carlos Romeu (Milagrosa) of London, England; five grandchildren, Christina, Cameron, Nicolas, Milagrosa, and Charlie; and three siblings, Dora Romeu, Maria Romeu, and David Romeu, all of Mexico City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Antonia Romeu.

Services and interment will be held privately by the family.
