Frederick Chamberlin of Lansdale, PA passed away on 05/29/2025 at age 90.  He is survived by his wife Norma, a son James and his children Jennifer, Rachel and Christopher of Langhorne, PA; a son Todd and his wife Maureen of Silver Spring, MD; and a daughter Nancy Keesler and her husband Bill and their son Alexander of Cicero, NY.

Fred was born in Auburn, NY and grew up in a small community near Syracuse, NY.  He and Norma were high school sweethearts and were married just shy of 68 years.  Fred was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and his family was more important to him than anything else.

He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  He had earned a position on the university football team, but a back injury cut short his athletic pursuits.

Following his university graduation, Fred entered the Army as a Lieutenant to fulfill his college ROTC obligation.  While in the service, he received a special commendation from his Commanding General for outstanding performance.  After two years of active duty, Fred and Norma returned to Syracuse where he had accepted a position in an engineering department of Carrier Air conditioning Company. At Carrier, he held various positions in new product development engineering, services engineering and engineering management.  One of his patents at Carrier was for the creation of a nationwide system for on-site microprocessor based, diagnostic monitoring of chillers, air conditioning and heating equipment, with automatic reporting of problems and significant data to central monitoring center computer and to the responsible local service office.

Fred stayed with Carrier for 34 years and retired in 1994. After their retirement, Fred and Norma moved to North Carolina for five years, then moved to Lansdale, to be closer to their children and grandchildren, and to enjoy the northeastern environment where they could indulge in their hobby of landscape gardening with many different types of flowers, shrubs, and ornamental trees.

Services are being held privately.
