Gary T. Jelly, 88, of North Wales, husband of Lynn M. (Ferrari) Jelly, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at his home.
Born in 1936 as Thomas Gary Cloninger in Gastonia, NC to the late Basil Cloninger and Missouri Lancaster, he was raised with love by the late William Jelly and Mary (Lancaster) Jelly as their own. Gary spent most of his childhood in Georgia and later New York, NY, helping his father in his restaurant. After serving in the army in his twenties, Gary became a stockbroker on Wall Street and started a family. His career progressed with an ahead-of-its-time venture into voice technology and later shifted into international shipping logistics. Later in life, he met the love of his life, Lynn, and together they enjoyed adventuring and camping in the wilderness with their beloved dogs.
Gary lived a life full of hobbies and personal interests. A gifted painter, a talented woodworker, a passionate writer, and a crafty mechanic, he was always tinkering. Gary was silly, finding new ways to make you smile, whether by directing make-believe plays, creating his latest invention, or surprising you with his latest theory. Above all, Gary was abundantly kind, giving of himself to ensure others had their needs met.
Surviving with his wife are children Thomas Jelly and family, Lynn Jelly, partner of Glenn, Jamie Jelly Murtha, wife of Brad, and grandson, Hudson.
Services and interment are private.
