Glenda Childs

Oct 1, 1955 — Jun 1, 2026

Glenda Childs, 70, of Lansdale, PA went to be with her savior on June 1, 2026, surrounded by her friends and family.

Glenda was born on October 1, 1955 in Phoenixville, PA to Abram and Lois (Sheeler) Mack.

She used her gifts for hospitality and administration in many ways: as a baker, a gift shop manager at several local shops and retirement communities, and the administrative assistant for Church Without Walls, an organization dedicated to "Meetings for Better Understanding" with the Muslim community. She was also an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harleysville.

Glenda enjoyed gardening, traveling, and music, and was a member of several local choirs including The Basics, One Accord, and Great Songs Faith. She was a gifted interior decorator, a consummate hostess, and deeply invested in her Dock Woods and church community. Over her life, her love and care enriched the lives of many people. This was most clearly seen in her deep and devoted care for her husband, Mark, especially in the last few years of his life. Glenda's attentiveness, advocacy, and care was an example of Christ's sacrificial love to everyone who witnessed it.

She is survived by her two children, Rachel Gottberg (Chris) of Elizabethtown, PA and Byron Childs (Rebecca) of Souderton, PA; three grandchildren, Joseph, Ada, and Henry; and her five siblings, Donna Shenk, Daryl Mack, Laverne Mack, Sylvia Shive, and Marsha Freed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark L. Childs in 2024.

Service will be held at Calvary Church of Souderton on Saturday July 11th. Family visitation begins at 9am with the service beginning at 11am. To attend the service please use the Door 1 entrance off of W Main Street.
