Hattie Lee Henry

February 5, 1928 — July 13, 2025

"Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Hattie Lee Whitehead Henry, daughter of the late Wilie and Ruben Whitehead, was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 5th, 1928. After the death of her mother, she moved to Suffolk, Virginia to live with her grandmother Hattie Porter, where she received her formal education.

Hattie relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she lived with her relatives. She loved the Lord and became a dedicated member of Trinity Baynton United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, PA. Hattie was an active member and served on the usher board, United Methodist Women, Age Level Family Ministries and numerous other committees. Over the last year she enjoyed services at Keystone Montgomeryville in Montgomeryville, PA.

August 5th, 1962 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Owen Henry (who preceded her in death), they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. From this union they welcomed one daughter, Christine. She also welcomed 5 wonderful bonus children Fritzroy, Vero, and Theresa. (Joan and Victor who preceded her in death).

Hattie loved children and took care of many in her home in Philadelphia. Parents never had to worry about their child because she was the best babysitter you could ask for. She loved spending time with her family who filled her life with joy and laughter.

Hattie enjoyed her time at The Salvation Kroc Center in Philadelphia, and Spark Senior Center of Harleysville (formerly GHNPSS Encore Experiences). There she was known as "Ms Queen". She made many friends and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. Her favorite greetings were "Praise the Lord everybody" and "I love you but God loves you the most."

Hattie is lovingly remembered by her daughters Vero, Theresa, and Christine (David); son Fritzroy (Youldine). Grandchildren Joanne, Cheryl (Eddie), Laurell, Owen, Tianna (Semaj), Brittany, Rachel, Keshia, Fritzroy Jr, Owen Jr, and Victor Jr., and David (Garilynn);  Great grandchildren Maurice (Melissa), Marquita (Dermot), Ashley, and Alyssa (Derek). Great great grandchildren Mikaela and Donovan. Hattie's memory will be cherished by a large circle of cousins, dear friends, and extended family.

We take comfort in knowing she is at rest and reunited with loved ones who passed before her.
