Henry Raymond Lucier ("Harry"), 92, of Hatboro and formerly of Philadelphia, died Thursday, November 7, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born in Darby in 1927, he was a son of the late Raymond & Amelia (nee Hall) Lucier.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII. Following his service, he was employed as a master carpenter with the City of Philadelphia for over 30 years until his retirement. "Hank", as former Philadelphia Mayor Frank L. Rizzo used to call him when he performed work in the Mayor's office, would upset his bosses by replying to the Mayor's greeting of "Hi Hank" with a cheerful "Hi Frank!"
While working for the City and after his retirement, Harry took on many woodworking projects. These ranged from working on his own home and homes of many family members and friends to various tasks around the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Fishtown. Harry was always busy with some woodworking or other project.
Harry also enjoyed civil war history & memorabilia, collecting and repairing clocks, and locksmithing.
Surviving Harry are his siblings, Josephine L. Knapp, David Lucier, Ella Becker; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Charles Lucier, Raymond Lucier, Ann Donnelly, and William Lucier.
Relatives and friends may attend his viewing on Wednesday, November 13 after 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, where his funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn. Arrangements are entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
