Howard "Bruce" Nyce

April 16, 1953 — June 11, 2026

Howard “Bruce” Nyce, 73, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 11, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on April 16, 1953, in Telford, Pennsylvania, Bruce lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, loyalty and unwavering devotion to his family.

Bruce was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. For 43 years, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Karen Nyce, building a life centered on family, resilience and laughter. While Bruce often teased Karen, those who knew them best understood it was one of the many ways he showed his affection.

Known as the strong, silent type, Bruce was not a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for those he loved. He dedicated more than 40 years to Oldcastle Precast before retiring. He was known for his dependability, strong work ethic and commitment to others.

Bruce found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and especially cherished time spent in Pennsylvania’s Endless Mountains. An animal lover throughout his life, he had a special fondness for dogs and rarely passed one without stopping to admire it. He was also a loyal Philadelphia sports fan who faithfully cheered for his hometown teams through every victory and defeat. A Penn State fan, he took great pride in seeing both of his children attend the university.

Family was always at the center of Bruce’s life. He was immensely proud of his children, Lindsay and Kyle, and welcomed his son-in-law, Josh, as family. Nothing brought Bruce more happiness than being “Pop Pop” to his beloved grandchildren, Ella, Kennedy and Zane.

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Nyce; his father, Arnold Nyce; and his oldest brother, Brent Nyce.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Nyce; his daughter, Lindsay Yanek and her husband, Josh; his son, Kyle Nyce; his brother, Daniel Nyce; his cherished grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Bruce will be remembered for his quiet generosity, sense of humor, devotion to his family, and the kindness he extended to others. The measure of Bruce’s life was not found in the words he spoke, but in the love, loyalty, and support he gave to the people he cared about most.

While his family mourns his loss, they find comfort in knowing he is no longer burdened by the disease he fought so bravely for so many years. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched through his unwavering love and support.

Services and interment will be held privately.
