Immaculate C. Roan (nee Recicar), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully surrounded by her daughters on November 7, 2024 at the age of 92. Born in 1932, Mac was raised in Plymouth, PA and graduated from Shawnee High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Roan, Jr.
After marrying in 1956, Mac and Bill relocated to Lansdale and began raising their family. Mac was widowed in 1970 at the age of 38, at which time she dedicated her life to raising her four young daughters (ages 2-13). Having been orphaned as an infant and having no siblings, her highest priority was always her girls. As their families expanded and her daughters married, Mac welcomed nine beautiful grandchildren that she adored and her great-grandson Trey, who always brought a smile to her face. Mac's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren grow and celebrating their life's accomplishments.
Mac was a devout Catholic and 68 year member of St. Stanislaus Church. She was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society and spent many years volunteering at St. Stan's, Lansdale Catholic High School and North Penn Hospital. Mac was also a fixture on the sidelines at St. Stan's, Lansdale Catholic, Bloomsburg and Villanova and was an avid Villanova basketball fan.
The family home was always decorated for the holidays and you would always find Mac dressed to coordinate with every occasion, be it red, white and blue for the summer holidays or in one of her many Christmas sweaters. She took great pride in always coordinating her matching outfits, shoes and purses with her coordinating lipstick.
Mac is survived by her daughters: Kathy Roan Rodgers (Greg) of Jamison, Ellen Roan Derr (Dave) of Lansdale, Patti Roan Goldberg (Richard) of Merion Station and Susan Roan Chang (Gene) of Villanova, as well as nine grandchildren: Katy Rodgers, Colin Rodgers, Courtney Derr Kaden (Jimmy), Brian Derr, Drew Goldberg, Abby Goldberg, Kathryn Chang, Christopher Chang and Patrick Chang, as well as her great-grandson, Trey Kaden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00pm at St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale with visitation from 11:00am-12:45pm. Burial will take place in the cemetery adjacent to the Church.
