Inge Erna Doubleday

Inge Doubleday, 92, of Harleysville, died Saturday, January 10, 2026.  She was the wife of the late William Alan Doubleday, who died July 2, 1998.

Born January 22, 1933 in Manheim, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Johanna (Herney) Weidner.

Mrs. Doubleday was employed as a nurse for many years.  She was a member of a number of Episcopal parishes throughout the area, including the former Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Lansdale.

Inge enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and was active with various animal rescue funds.

Survivors include her sons, William Wendel Doubleday (Mary) of Snohomish, WA, and Edmund C. Doubleday of Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Manfred Weidner; and sister, Roswithe Knobel.

Relatives and friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Inge's memory to an animal welfare fund of one's choice.
