Irene D. Potts

Irene D. Potts, 94, of Lansdale, passed away surrounded by her family at home on May 16, 2026. Irene's strong Christian faith guided her life as reflected in Romans 5:8 "but God demonstrates His own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." She was an active member of Grace Bible Church, Souderton. She was a supporter of many different missionaries and ministries. Irene was an avid reader, loved jigsaw puzzles, and nature. She also liked exercising and watching sports. She took great joy in service to others.

Irene was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Charles Dewey and Ada Wissler (Erb) Douts. She graduated from Millersville High School and completed Bible training at the school now known as Cairn University. She went on to join the staff there as an Administrative Assistant and met Austin Henry Potts who was a Professor at the school. They were married in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters Beverly LaValla (Daniel) and Linda Mangum (Todd); five grandsons Shane LaValla, Zachary LaValla (Kiera), Caleb Mangum (Mary), Seth Mangum (Hannah), Jesse Mangum (Katie); six great-grandchildren, Austin, Raiden, Legacie, Judah, Elliana and Levi; as well as four sisters-in-law, Marilyn Douts, Shirley Douts, Noreda Potts and Lydia Potts Goshen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her 10 siblings C. Herbert, William, John, James, Gerald, Fred, Edythe, Doris, Helen and Julia.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026 at Grace Bible Church, 423 N. Main Street, Souderton, PA, 18964. Visitation at the church will begin at 10am with the service following at 11am.
