Jackie H. Haraschak, 73, of Hatfield, died Saturday, June 14, 2025. She was the wife of Stephen J. Haraschak, narrowly missing their 50th anniversary of their marriage on August 16.
Born September 21, 1951 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gordon B. and Marilyn (Horn) Hartzell.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Chad Haraschak (Maria) of Marlton, NJ, and Alyssa Deeble (Phil) of Alburtis, PA; and seven wonderful grandchildren, Sydney, (recently accepted to Penn State University Main Campus, following in her grandmother's footsteps), Logan, Chase, and Dylan Deeble, and Natalie, Olivia, and Benjamin Haraschak. She is also survived by a brother, Gary Hartzell of Warminster, PA.
Jackie was a graduate of Abington High School (1969) and Penn State University having earned a degree in Elementary Education with high distinction (1973). She later received a master's equivalency in education. Jackie taught elementary school in Abington School District at Sandy Run Elementary for a number of years before retiring to raise her children, having never missed any of their school activities or sporting events.
Jackie later changed vocations and became a merchandiser for Danskin, Inc. servicing most of the major department stores in the Philadelphia and New Jersey region, including Wanamaker's, Macy's, and other major retailers.
She enjoyed a lengthy relationship with Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, having served as a greeter for many years. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, never missing a televised game. She also enjoyed traveling and was especially fond of her trips to Alaska, the Caribbean, Italy, England, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.
She always had an overwhelming love for her family, cherishing them all, and will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Jackie's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, address above, or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
