James Irving Overmier

James Irving Overmier, 80, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Bette (Beerman) Overmier, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Toledo, OH, he was a son of the late Leslie & Helena (Miller) Overmier. Jim was a graduate of North Baltimore High School (OH,'55) and the University of Miami (OH, '63).

Jim was an avid golfer and sportsman. He enjoyed hunting with his camera and bird watching. He found happiness watching the Steelers, summering in Florida and attending family reunions. His greatest joy was cheering on his grandchildren with Bette at his side.

In addition to his wife Bette, Jim is survived by his daughters, Beth Overmier, of Perkasie; Jill Kulig (Timothy), of Green Lane; his son, Don Overmier (Leslie), of Lansdale; his brother, J. Bruce Overmier, of Minneapolis, MN; and six Grandchildren; Rebecca, Shannon, Aaron, Owen, Nolan and Daniel. Jim was predeceased by his sister Joyce Daugherty, of Fort Worth, TX.

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, July 22 after 1:00 p.m. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale where military funeral honors will be rendered at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
