James D. Ryan

James D. Ryan, 80, of Lansdale, husband of Gail A. (Fretz) Ryan, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Dock Woods.

Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late James P. and Elsie (Cizik) Ryan.

James was a US Air Force Veteran. He worked at Merck pharmaceutical for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. James was an avid golfer and Philadelphia sports fan, enjoyed fly fishing, and was a car enthusiast.

Surviving with his wife are nieces Ellen Staquet, wife of Kenny, Carol Hadtke, wife of Dave, Denise Fantuzzi, wife of Nick Golaski, Joan Stitt, and Susan Paparella, wife of Dr. Thomas Paparella; nephews David Buynak, husband of Christine, Steve Balogh, husband of Lois, and Scott Fretz, husband of Sherry; and brother in law Donald Fretz, husband of Barbara.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Patricia N. (Ryan) Buynak.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 10:00AM to  10:45AM at Dock Woods Community, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, with a memorial service to begin at 11:00AM. Burial will be Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:30AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown with military honors.
