Jane Ramey Littman, age 92, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Jane was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She went home to the Lord peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, Jane graduated from John Harris High School and, in 1953, earned her degree in Nursing from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She worked in many locations over her nursing career, including Princeton, NJ; Wilmington, DE; Montclair, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; and most notably, Norristown, PA, where she served as a pediatric nurse for Dr. Stephen Shapiro—yes, the Governor's father—for nearly 25 years until her retirement.
Jane was an active member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Lafayette Hill, PA, for 49 years. Many will remember her organizing the church's semi-annual American Red Cross blood drives and making personal calls to encourage donations. She also attended Jesus Focus Ministries in East Norriton, PA, and recommitted her life to Jesus through baptism in 1979.
In 2010, Jane moved to Dock Woods in Lansdale, PA, where she lived and volunteered in many capacities to help those in need. Whether pushing wheelchairs, working in the Acorn Shop, or delivering campus mail, she served with a smile on her face and a heart full of love. The entire Dock Woods campus—staff and residents alike—knew and cherished Jane Littman.
Jane had an unwavering faith in the Lord. She led with grace and was compassionate, kind, gentle, quiet, and fiercely independent. She was a diehard football fan and loved patriotic music. Jane was known for her love of literature—both history and fiction—and faithfully walked two miles every day until June 2024.
She is survived by her daughter Heidi and her husband Joe; her son Arthur and his wife Meryl; her daughter Heather and her husband Dave; four grandchildren (Amanda, Hannah, Emily, and Tyler); six great-grandchildren (Max, Eleanor, Teddy, Jonah, Patrick, and Izzy); and a wide circle of friends who will carry forward her legacy of grace and generosity. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains deeply woven into the lives she enriched. She signed every family card with "SHMILY" ("See How Much I Love You").
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Messiah United Methodist Church, 527 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Visitation will be from 9:30–10:30 a.m., with the service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon in Kolva Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane's name may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are entrusted to Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
