Janet R. Owens

Janet R. Owens, 89, of Hatfield, died Thursday, July 24, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Ted W. Owens, who died April 21, 2002.

Born June 2, 1936 in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Rappold) Ruth.

Mrs. Owens was a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hilltown.  She was employed as a secretary with North Penn Transfer for many years as well as an HR specialist with Webcraft.

Janet was an avid camper and baker.  She was a proud Avon lady and dedicated Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Survivors include her son, Robert Glenn Owens (Tammy) of Bally, PA, and her daughter, Susan M. Owens (late David Gulick) of Lansdale; her step-grandchildren, Christina Neal (Philip Marks) of Macungie, and Jacob Neal (Emily) of Bechtelsville; two grandchildren, Robyn Gulick of Jacksonville, NC, and Voltaire Lennox of Lansdale; her step great-grandchildren, Aaron, Rebecca, Vera, Henry, Gideon, Florence, and Pearl; and two great-grandchildren, Cali Cook and Julius Cook.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Rittenhouse.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale.  A second viewing will begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1530 Augsburg, Drive, Hilltown, PA 18927, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
