Jean B. Alderfer-Troster

Jean Alderfer-Troster, age 93, of Savannah passed away Friday, August 4, 2023.

Mrs. Alderfer-Troster was born on December 30, 1929, in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania to the late George Franklin Breisch and the late Helen Melcina Kibblehouse Breisch. Jean graduated from Ambler High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Beaver College in 1951. She was a retired schoolteacher and worked as a substitute teacher prior to retirement. Jean loved spending summers in Byram, New Jersey - especially when her grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, and Megan, joined her. Swimming, bicycling, boating, and tubing were some activities that they enjoyed together. In addition, she was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Savannah and formerly attended Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Carfa (Louis); sister, Marjorie H. Fuehrer; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her late brother, George F. Breisch; late husband Robert C. Alderfer and late husband Martin J. Troster.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Church of the Messiah in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will follow at the church at Noon. Interment will follow in the cemetery at Church of the Messiah.
