Jean Estelle Shannon, 98, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 20, 2025. Jean was preceded in death by her former spouse William Shannon Jr., and five siblings, Leon Krout, Doris Wampole, Gladys Stoneback, Janice Bearden, Elwood Moyer.
Born March 31, 1927 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William and Virginia (DeLong) Moyer.
Jean served as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 60 years, and most recently associated with the Worcester (PA) Congregation. She spent most of her free hours in the ministry of her faith and volunteered as a Kingdom Hall service pianist. She was employed with Harleysville Insurance for many years, retiring in 1992. She loved concerts, especially the Philadelphia Orchestra, playing piano, and watching classic movies.
Jean took pleasure in spending as much time as she could with her grand and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother with deep faith and conviction, who had a positive impact on and was an inspiration to many. Jean will be remembered for her sweet and loving disposition shown towards her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Wayne B. Shannon of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Karen S. Benham (Michael) of Lexington, NC, Patrick W. Shannon of Lansdale, and William H. Shannon (Maureen) of Columbus, NJ: four grandchildren, Carley, Mick, Will, and Jake; four great-grandchildren, Ada, Everett, Isaac and Margot; and a sister, Geraldine Scheetz of Sellersville.
Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
