Joan B. Ormand

Joan B. Ormand, 97, long time resident of Lansdale, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Park Creek Place.

She was the loving wife of John R. Ormand.

Born August 20, 1927, she was raised in McKeesport, PA and was a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Mansfield) McLaughlin.

Throughout her life, Joan served as an executive secretary at Leeds & Northrup for many years.  She enjoyed reading her favorite stories, listening to classical music and poetry, and baking delicious treats for her family and friends to enjoy.  Those that knew her best knew not to distract her while she was watching her favorite show, Jeopardy.  She often knew the answers long before the game show contestants ever called them out.

What brought Joan the most joy in life was her family.  She will be remembered as a strong-willed Leo that was loving, intelligent and always maintained a great sense of humor.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by; her daughter, Mary Adams, and husband Nicholas; her son, Paul Ormand, and wife Eleanor; her grandchildren, Marcus, Alexandra (husband Brendan), Ashley Medina (husband Jordan), and Alivia; and her great grandchildren, Vivian and Hayes.

Joan is preceded in death by her daughter Julie; her sisters, Agnes and Nancy, and her brother Vance.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
